Radiologic Technology - A.A.S. and A.T.S.
| DESCRIPTION: | The Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology is offered at the Ashtabula and Salem campuses. Radiologic technologist take x-rays and administer nonradioactive materials into patients' bloodstreams for medical diagnostic purposes. With the successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The Salem Campus offers the Associate of Technical Study in Radiologic Technology as a completion program for certified radiologic technologists and diagnostic medical sonographers who have finished their training at an accredited institution and have been certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Students interested in one of these programs should apply to the Salem Campus and meet with the director of radiologic technology for additional application details. Upon admission to these programs, students will be granted 32 credit hours on the basis of their certification. The Salem Campus also offers the Associate of Technical Study in the following:

| ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: |
A.A.S.: Admission to the program is on a selective basis due to the limited number of students approved for each clinical education center. The application deadlines are February 1 at the Salem Campus and March 1 at the Ashtabula Campus. Program applicants are encouraged to meet with an advisor at the Ashtabula or Salem campuses to discuss the minimum admission requirements. Detailed information and requirements for admission, satisfactory progress and graduation are in the student handbook for this program. A copy of the handbook may be obtained from the program directors. A.T.S.: Must be a registered radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist or diagnostic medical sonographer prior to program start. Program applicants are encouraged to meet with an advisor at the Salem campuses to discuss the program requirements. |
| GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: |
A.A.S.: Minimum 70-71 credit hours. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and in major. Students must receive a grade of C (2.0) or better in all RADT and BSCI 11010 and 11020 courses. A.T.S.: Minimum 66-68 credit hours. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and in major. |

| ACCREDITATION: | The Salem Campus program is approved and accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, JRCERT. The Ashtabula Campus program is JRCERT accredited as of December 9, 2010. |
