Radiologic Technology - A.A.S. and A.T.S. Download to print

The Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology is offered at the Ashtabula and Salem campuses. Radiologic technologists take x-rays and administer nonradioactive materials into patients' bloodstreams for medical diagnostic purposes. With the successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

The Salem Campus offers the Associate of Technical Study in Radiologic Technology as a completion program for certified radiologic technologists who have finished their training at an accredited institution and have been certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Students interested in the A.A.S. degree should apply to the Ashtabula or Salem Campus and meet with the director of radiologic technology for additional application details. Students interested in the A.T.S. degree should meet with the program director at the Salem Campus.

A.A.S.: Admission to the program is on a selective basis due to the limited number of students approved for each clinical education setting. The application deadlines are February 1 at the Salem Campus and  Ashtabula Campus.  Program applicants are encouraged to meet with an advisor at the Ashtabula or Salem campuses to discuss the minimum admission requirements. Detailed information and requirements for admission, satisfactory progress and graduation are in the student handbook for this program. A copy of the handbook may be obtained from the program directors.

A.T.S.: Must be a registered radiologic technologist prior to program start. Program applicants are encouraged to meet with an advisor at the Salem campuses to discuss the program requirements. Upon admission to these programs, students will be granted 32 credit hours on the basis of their certification.

A.A.S.: Minimum 69 credit hours. Minimum 2.000 cumulative GPA and in major. Students must receive a grade of C (2.000) or better in all RADT and BSCI 11010 and 11020; or BSCI 20020 courses.

A.T.S.: Minimum 66-67 credit hours. Minimum 2.000 cumulative GPA and in major.
