Description
The Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Technology is offered at the Ashtabula and Salem campuses. The program is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in a variety of human services agencies. The program includes applied courses in human services and joint university-agency supervised internships. The core courses provide a solid foundation in case management and client advocacy. The coursework in the associate degree articulates fully to the Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, Human Services Technology Option. Career Opportunities
Social and human service assistants held about 339,000 jobs in 2006. Over 60 percent were employed in the health care and social assistance industries. Nearly 3 in 10 were employed by State and local governments, primarily in public welfare agencies and facilities for mentally disabled and developmentally challenged individuals. Admission Requirements
Admission is open to anyone with a high school diploma or its equivalent. Admission includes approval of an application and remediation of deficiencies in English, reading and mathematics. Graduation Requirements
Minimum 67 credit hours. Minimum 2.000 cumulative GPA and a minimum of 2.500 in all major courses. Student Organizations
