TheAdvanced Study in Digital Libraries certificate meets the growing demand for digital librarians and digital libraries. It is for those who have earned an MLS or MLIS degree. Curriculum focuses on the following areas: foundations of preservation theory and practice in library, archival, and other information environments; creation and maintenance of digital surrogates of analog material; knowledge organization and management for digital repositories, technical infrastructure for digital preservation; curatorial functions, including development of policy and procedure to manage digital objects; and social, economic, policy and professional issues.
