109 Satterfield Hall The Arabic minor is interdisciplinary, providing the foundation in all four language skills. Students become able to have successful conversations and simple debates with natives (mostly in Modern Standard Arabic) on a variety of topics, in addition to growing their aural comprehension skill and writing skills. Moreover, students will be introduced to the history, civilization and culture, with some of its complexity, of the Arab World, including some famous writers, historical figures, poets and singers, and thus, challenge and clarify some of the misconceptions they may have developed. At the completion of the minor, students should have reached an advanced level of oral proficiency. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in short-term, semester-long or year long study Minimum cumulative 2.000 GPA required for graduation. Students must complete at least two upper-division courses in the minor at Kent State on a graded basis (A-F).
