A Sociology minor gives a broad understanding of the theoretical, methodological and substantive issues relevant to the field, as well as the tools necessary to apply this knowledge to other areas of study. Students explore the intersections between culture, social structure and individual behavior by examining issues related to social inequality, health and healthcare, deviance, families and family violence, urban communities, social psychology and more. The skills developed in the minor allow students to connect their own life experiences to the experiences of other people, communities and cultures.
