* Required of all students on appointment who have not had college teaching experience.
** Each doctoral candidate, upon admission to candidacy, must register for ENG 89199 Dissertation I for a total of 30 hours. It is expected that a doctoral candidate will continuously register for Dissertation I, and thereafter ENG 89299 Dissertation II, each semester, including one term each summer, until all requirements for the degree have been met.
***Students are required to pass a foreign language requirement, pass qualifying examinations in 3 areas and successfully defend a dissertation.
