The Master of Arts in Music Composition is for students who have experience as composers of solo, chamber and large ensemble works. A prior portfolio is required for admission.
Admission Requirements
Official transcripts(s); portfolio of original compositions; three letters of recommendation; and academic paper written in English
Graduation Requirements
Minimum 32 total credit hours.
Thesis/ Dissertation
The Master of Arts program requires a thesis.
All students writing a thesis must pass a final oral examination covering the thesis and the student’s major area of study. The final oral examination may be attempted two times.
