The Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist certificate prepares nurses who already have a master's degree in nursing to be an advanced practice nurse in the sub-speciality of adult health. Graduates of the certificate will be eligible to sit for national certification in adult health or gerontology, teach adult health nursing or related courses and practice the speciality in various health care agencies. After completing 525 clinical hours and the complete plan of study, graduates are eligible to apply for the National Certification Examination.
