Students may take the courses listed in the "introductory" sequences with the restrictions noted above in the Kent Core Basic Science section. The course may not be from the student's major.

******One additional course taken from the Kent Core Social Sciences courses in the following Arts and Sciences disciplines: Anthropology (ANTH), Applied Conflict Management (CACM), Geography (GEOG), Criminology and Justice Studies (JUS), Political Science (POL), Psychology (PSYC) or Sociology (SOC). To fulfill the diversity requirement, students must take one global diversity course that is not a SOC course.

Although students earning a BA are not required to have a minor, many sociology majors choose to obtain a minor as one way of completing the 42 upper-division credits required for the degree. Minors that work well with a sociology major include psychology, justice studies and other social sciences.
