The Advertising minor provides students with an overview of the different roles advertising plays in our society. Students will gain an understanding of social, legal and marketing considerations in advertising and how branding is created through media and creative strategies to persuade a designated target audience.

Requirements to declare minor: This minor is only open to visual communication design majors, marketing majors and communication studies majors. Minimum 2.000 overall Kent State University GPA; or, if a first semester freshman or transfer student admitted in good standing, no established Kent State University GPA is needed.  Minimum 2.700 GPA in the minor required for graduation.
