The certificate of Advanced Study in Library and Information Science is an opportunity for librarians and information specialists to update and upgrade their professional skills. The program can be tailored to those who hold an MLS or MLIS and are interested in expanding their professional skills in various areas of library and information science. Students may select courses for their CAS to specialize in areas such as youth services, library management, cataloging and metadata, digital libraries, digital preservation, museum studies, information technology, and public services in different information environments. Students must consult with their academic advisor for approval of program study (15 credit hours of elective coursework and 3 credit hours of individual investigation).
