E101 Kent State University's Center for the Performing Arts The music performance certificate is available to students who have earned the bachelor of music degree (BM) or bachelor of arts degree in music (BA) with a major in music performance. The certificate provides a one-year program for non-degree seeking advanced-level musicians who are interested in intensive study and further development of music performance skills in a concentrated field of study. Students may choose from the following, instrumental performance (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion), piano performance and voice performance. Audition required. Students enrolled only in this certificate program are not eligible for federal financial aid.
* Ensemble includes MUS 4/55131 Opera, MUS 4/55141 Kent State University Chorale, MUS 4/55212 Kent State University Orchestra, MUS 4/55223 Wind Ensemble, MUS 4/55271 New Music Ensemble, MUS 4/55311 Chamber Music, MUS 4/55321 Accompanying. ** Accepted international students who need to fulfill their TOEFL score requirement may take non-developmental ESL (English as a Second Language) courses as electives toward the requirements of the Music Performance Certificate program. Grades earned are included in GPA. This certificate is not eligible for Title IV financial aid. |
