DESCRIPTION: The Master of Science in Nutrition consists of two concentrations: Dietetic Internship and Nutrition.

Dietetic Internship emphasizes nutritional sciences and opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research in laboratory and community settings. Graduates obtain positions as nutritionists in health care and community agencies such as Head Start and WIC, nutrition-exercise specialists, cooperative extension nutrition specialists, teachers in junior and four-year colleges and as research associates.

The Nutrition program emphasizes a strong nutritional sciences foundation through coursework and provides opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research in community settings.
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS:
  Official transcript(s), 3.0 GPA, goal statement, three letters of recommendation and coursework in biochemistry, physiology, and advanced nutrition. Admission into the Dietetic Internship concentration also requires ADA verification statement and dietetic internship application (due February 15).
GRADUATION
REQUIREMENTS:
 		The concentration in nutrition requires 32 semester hours, including a master’s thesis or master’s project. The dietetic internship concentrations requires 43 semester hours.

 		Thesis or Master's Project required.
