- US 10097 is not required of transfer students with 25 credits (excluding College Credit Plus and dual-enrollment) or students age 21+ at time of admission.
- Major ensemble (8 separate semesters): All music technology majors must enroll in an ensemble appropriate to their major performance area. 2 credit hours must be taken in a major ensemble. Major ensemble credit can be earned for MUS 25011 and MUS 25225. Major ensembles are MUS 45111, MUS 45121, MUS 45141, MUS 45142, MUS 45143, MUS 45212, MUS 45221 and Mus 45223. Students may choose to complete the other 6 hours in MUS 35213 Studio Ensemble, or 4 hours in MUS 35213 and 2 hours as ensemble electives (e.g., MUS 45231, MUS 25311 for guitar majors).
- A minimum C (2.0) grade must be earned in TECH 31000 to fulfill the writing-intensive requirement.
- Applied Studio Musicianship and Applied Music (6 semesters and 12 credit hours): Students must take at least 4 credit hours at 2 credits per semester of Applied Music and meet Applied Music graduation requirements. Students may complete the other 8 credit hours by taking either Applied Music or Applied Studio Musicianship to meet graduation requirements. Students must also meet the 46000-entry-level requirement in either Applied Music or in Applied Studio Musicianship for graduation. Special Notes for Degree/Major:
- Students pursuing the in Audio Recording and Music Production concentration simultaneously can take the Audio Recording and Music Production III, IV, V and VI classes concurrently.
- Students are required to attend a minimum four-year total of 84 concerts or recitals.
- Applied music courses are available in the summer on selected instruments. Composition may also be taken in the summer.
- Students must receive a minimum grade of C in all MUS courses.
