  1. KENT CORE REQUIREMENTS
    1. COMPOSITION (6 credit hours)
      Placement by ACT/SAT English composition scores; student may be required to take ENG 11001 Introduction to College Writing-Stretch
    2. MATHEMATICS AND CRITICAL REASONING (3-5 credit hours)
      MATH 14001 and 14002 may be used to meet the requirement provided both courses were completed while students were enrolled in another college.
    3. HUMANITIES AND FINE ARTS (9 credit hours)
      At least one course must be selected from the Humanities in Arts and Sciences/Communication Information area, and at least one course must be selected from the Fine Arts area. Any course marked with a "D" or "G" that is taken to satisfy the humanities and fine arts will also satisfy the diversity requirement.
    4. SOCIAL SCIENCES (6 credit hours)
      Courses must be selected from at least two curricular areas.Any course marked with a "D" or "G" that is taken to satisfy the social sciences requirement will also satisfy the diversity requirement.
    5. BASIC SCIENCES (6-7 credit hours)
      Must be selected from the Kent Core courses, or from beginning "major sequences" courses in biological anthropology (ANTH 38630); biological sciences (BSCI 10110, 10120) and (11010, 11020), chemistry (CHEM 10060, 10061, 10062, 10063, 10960, 10961) and physics (PHY 23101, 23102). The total credit hours must include at least one laboratory course (marked "LAB").

      Restrictions:
      1. Credit toward the basic sciences category is not allowed for the following:
        1. Both PHY 11660 and either the CHEM 10050 (10050, 10052, 10053, 10054) series, the CHEM 10060 (10060, 10061, 10062, 10063) series or the PHY 13001 series (13001, 13002)
        2. Both the CHEM 10050 (10050, 10052, 10053, 10054) series and the CHEM 10060 (10060, 10061, 10062, 10063) series
        3. More than one of the PHY 13001 (13001, 13002), PHY 13011 (13011, 13012) or PHY 23101 (23101, 23102) series
        4. Combinations of the BSCI 10001 (10001, 10002) series, the BSCI 10110 (10110, 10120) series and/or BSCI 20020
    6. ADDITIONAL COURSES (6 credit hours)
      Select additional courses from above (no more than one course per area. The following courses may also be selected:
      1. CLAS 21201 English Words from Classical Elements (3) Does not fulfill Kent Core
      2. COMM 15000 Introduction to Human Communication (3)
      3. PHIL 11009 Principles of Thinking (3)
