”Developmental” means a course that is below college level and cannot be applied toward a certificate or degree program. At Kent State, the following courses are designated as developmental and may be prescribed or recommended through placement testing: CHEM 10020, ENG 11001, ENG 12001–12007, ENG 12101–12107, ENG 12201–12207, ENG 12301–12307, ENG 12401–12407, ENG 12500, MATH 10006, MATH 10007, MATH 10020–10024, US 10003 and US 10006. Although these courses will count toward the course load for financial aid and other purposes, hours taken in these courses will be subtracted from the students’ total before graduation. None of these courses may be taken pass/fail.
