Computer Technology (A.A.B.)

The Associate of Applied Business in Computer Technology provides students with a core consisting of programming, operating systems and networks, Web site development and workgroup productivity technologies. Students may choose from concentrations in specific areas including applications development, Internet/multimedia, and network technologies. These concentrations allow students to focus their studies and begin to prepare for various professional certifications. There is also a general concentration that prepares students for positions in small- and medium-sized organizations that require computer staff to perform a wide variety of technical duties. In addition, the concentrations may articulate fully or in part with available certificates in microcomputer applications, database administrator and advanced Internet; please contact an advisor for more information. This major is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), 7007 College Blvd., Suite 420, Overland Park, KS 66211, 913-339-9356, www.acbsp.org.

The degree is available at the Ashtabula, East Liverpool, Geauga, Salem, Trumbull and Tuscarawas campuses with courses available at the Kent Campus through the College of Technology.
