Spanish Major—2009-2010 Roadmap [Degree Requirements]

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish explore the rich diversity of Spanish cultures, develop written and oral skills in the Spanish language, and increase their understanding of the cultures and history of Spain and Latin America through the analysis of literary and nonliterary texts. Proficiency in the Spanish language and awareness of aspects of Hispanic cultures are valuable assets in may majors and careers, including international relations, international business, journalism and mass communication, health care, government, education, justice studies and law.

Students interested in declaring the B.A. in Spanish should contact the Department of Modern and Classical Language Studies, where advising is mandatory.

Students interested in teacher licensure must contact the departmental pedagogy coordinator for advising to complete the required education minor.
