Comparative Literature Minor

The comparative literature minor allows students to combine coursework in the literatures of several cultures with interdisciplinary courses that support and clarify the relations between these literatures.

Literature Electives  12
Electives are chosen from junior and senior (30000- and 40000-level) courses in literature
(including courses offered in translation) other than the major from either the English
department or the Modern and Classical Language Studies department. Electives may also
be chosen from related disciplines such as history, philosophy, art history and music,
provided the courses are related and not in the student’s major field; each substitution must
be approved by the coordinator for the comparative literature program.
