The mission of the College of Technology is to enhance technological Literacy, education and training essential to the knowledge economy, socio-economic well-being and to the workforce development of the state of Ohio in general and Northeast Ohio in particular. The college's curricula lead to various certificates in emerging/high-technology areas and to a seamless articulation with technical associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs with global perspectives for careers in business, industry, education and government sectors.
Statistics indicate that at the start of the 21st century, employment opportunities will be the greatest in high-technology fields. Kent State University’s College of Technology, part of Kent State’s eight-campus network, offers nationally accredited technology-based programs that provide students with the skills needed to compete in today’s job market.
The College of Technology offers programs at the certificate, bachelor’s and master’s degree levels throughout Kent’s eight-campus network. With a talented faculty and flexible schedules that include evening, weekend, distance-learning and Web-based classes, the College of Technology has a program to match students’ needs and interests. Academic programs are divided into three areas: aeronautics, applied engineering and technology.
The Applied Engineering and Technology programs are accredited through the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering.
The Aeronautics program is accredited through the Council on Aviation Accreditation Incorporated and Aviation Accreditation Board International Federal Aviation Administration
Our graduates find employment in many areas which include: commercial airline pilots, engineering technologist, animators, teachers, and construction managers.
