Plastics Manufacturing Engineering Certificate (Post Secondary)

This certificate program provides students with a well-rounded background in plastic materials and processes, which can be immediately applied in the workplace. The focus of this program is in the development of hands-on skills with sufficient theoretical background to  apply these skills successfully. This program is not intended to be a substitute for the associate degree in manufacturing engineering technology, but rather a supplement for the student returning to update an existing degree or presently pursuing a degree.

Students must satisfy the prerequisite of each course in the program by either (a) completing the prerequisite courses, or (b) demonstrating to an engineering technology faculty member that they have otherwise met the prerequisite. A minimum of 15 hours of the certificate curriculum must be completed at Kent State University. Transfer credits may be used only if letter grades appear on the transcript.  Such transfer hours are counted as being completed prior to declaring the certificate.
