To fulfill the diversity requirement, students must take one global diversity course that is not a SOC course.

Although students earning a BA are not required to have a minor, many sociology majors choose to obtain a minor as one way of completing the 42 upper-division credits required for the degree. Minors that work well with a sociology major include psychology, justice studies and other social sciences.
